Lao Zhong Zhong Five Spice Stall

Lao Zhong Zhong Eating House
29 Tai Thong Crescent(Corner of Tai Thong Crescent
and Siang Kiang Ave) Singapore 347858
11.30am to 11.30pm
closed on alternate Monday
The stall
Again this stall was supposed to be the number 1 Ngoh Hiang stall in Singapore alleged by some food reviewers. Some also considered Ngoh Hiang Chinese Rojak. It is hard to find good Teochew stall in Singapore much harder to find one that serve Teochew snacks.

Most of the items in stall are hand-made. The century egg is very fresh. The sauce itself is spicy and sweet and complements well with the fried items. The hand-made guan chiang(pink pork sausage) uses only lean meat.Prawn crackers are crispy to the max.
S$9.10
In fact it was so good that I immediately ordered another plate. This stall has a wide selection of items and the price is also very reasonable.
S$4.10

Cold Soya Bean Drink S$1.30

Beancurd S$1.70

The beancurd is very original and good. Maybe for too long I have been eating the lao ban tau huay and suddenly try an original flavour one brings back the perennial homely feeling of what a comfort food should be.
Taiwan noodle(S3.80), You Tiao(S1.10) and Toasted Bun Meat - Floss Egg($3.00)
The taiwan noodle has slices of pig intestines inside it. The intestines are well-clean with no hog smell. The soup is simply delicious some tried eating with drops of vinegar which is readily available in every table.
Steamed Dumplings S$2.80

Carrot cake/Egg S$2.00
See the amount of carrot inside the cake!
The xiao long bao really value for money S$2.80. Each dumpling is juicy and full of meat. The only issue is the skin is abit thick. The carrot cake is also value for money and you can readily taste the carrots.

Blackened Chilli Mee Pok S$4.00

Big fat oysters soup S$5.00

The chilli mee pok used dried prawns as the sauce which you can't find it elsewhere. There are fresh prawns, dry sole fish, mushroom, fish balls, fish cake and minced meat in the mee pok. I like the fried onions, lard and fish sauce. We particularly like the oysters soup has generous number of fat oysters. The soup is tasty and delicious. The noodles use are thin and QQ.
